Religious rite for Keerati Rushchano begins at Wat Phra Si Mahathat from Monday

Keerati Rushchano, the permanent secretary for the Ministry of Commerce, died on Friday at the age of 56.

Keerati passed away peacefully at 3.28am on Friday, his family announced.

The senior official had been sent to Ramathibodi Hospital on April 10 after collapsing at his house. He had been diagnosed with an ischemic stroke during his tenure as the Foreign Trade Department director-general.

Keerati was promoted to the position of permanent secretary for commerce in 2022.

He is survived by his wife and two children.

The bathing rite for the late commerce permanent secretary will be held at Wat Phra Si Mahathat in Bang Khen district of Bangkok at 4pm on Monday. The chanting rite starts at 6pm from Friday.

The cremation ceremony will be scheduled later as Keerati had donated the body to students at the Faculty of Medicine of Mahidol University for medical education.
