Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra was furious last Wednesday over Matichon’s headline saying that Thailand’s good-governance had been downgraded by the World Bank judging from the Corruption Control indicator, in which Thailand scored only 49 percent. The premier took the report as disrespect to the country and reacted with tougher moves detailed in this Matichon follow-up excerpt.
